Hot Brain - Review

Hot Brain
Ages: Everyone

I like these pseudo SAT/intelligence tests. This one exercises your brain so you go from warm to hot. There is the ubiquitous professor, explaining the functions and handling the elevator as he takes you to the five different levels.

  • Logic – Shape segments – added or subtracted.
  • Sequences – What comes next?
  • Back Seat Driver – Reading maps.
    Memory
  • Scene of the Crime – Selecting an identical picture.
  • Musical Memory – Repeating a musical sequence.
  • Pinball Wizard – Counting the number of time a pinball hits a bumper.
    Math
  • High or Low – Place solutions I ascending or descending order.
  • Cruise Ship – Keep track of those on board.
  • Equation Sensation – What sign makes the equation correct?
    Language
  • Alphabet – Alphabetizing.
  • Spelling Bee – Identify misspelling.
  • Picto-Rhymes – Match picture with rhyme.
    Concentration
  • Untangle – Trace paths.
  • Shape Up – What can you make from pieces?
  • Combine – What segment will complete the shape?

The exercises are non-threatening and fun to do. For example, instead of being required to spell correctly, you are asked to pick out the misspelled words. Some seemingly simple ones are surprisingly difficult but you can start on the easy level. First time though, you may not understand what is expected – second time, you will benefit from your test taking skill.

Fun Factor: Interesting to see what categories are your strongest.
Player Friendly: Keeps records of and updates your skill.
